Se revisaron las imágenes de mesorrecto residual y los informes histopatológicos respecto al margen de resección distal. Se comparó la recidiva local después de más de 3 años de seguimiento entre dos cohortes temporales, 2007-2010 y 2011-2013, respectivamente. RESULTADOS Se incluyeron un total de 627 pacientes, en los que en 381 se realizó una MRI postoperatoria de la pelvis. Las tasa actuarial de recidiva local a 3 años en pacientes con cáncer del tercio superior de recto mejoraron del 12,9% al 5,0% (P = 0,012). Después del taller, se realizaron menos PME en pacientes con cáncer del tercio superior de recto (91% versus 80%, P = 0,023) y menos pacientes en los que se realizó una PME presentaron un margen de resección distal insuficiente (62% versus 31%, P less then 0,001). CONCLUSIÓN La evaluación de la calidad de la práctica quirúrgica puede tener un gran impacto en los resultados oncológicos después de la cirugía del cáncer del tercio superior de recto.Limited research has examined the link between Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2-Restructured Form (MMPI-2-RF) scales and contemporary personality and psychopathology models within correctional settings. This study focused on establishing construct validity of the MMPI-2-RF in offender samples from a broad personality framework. Two samples of incarcerated men and women completed a battery of broadband personality measures and narrowband measures that capture conceptually related constructs. To examine how MMPI-2-RF scale scores and criterion measures converged in a conjoint latent structure, we conducted a series of exploratory structural equation modelling analyses, which revealed factors similar to those of extant hierarchical personality models. At the broadband level, four factors (Positive Activation, Negative Affectivity, Inhibition and Agreeableness) were observed, whereas narrowband criteria yielded five factors (Behavioural Approach System, Disinhibition/Externalizing, Danger/Thrill Seeking, Self-Assurance/Boldness, and Unemotionality/Coldheartedness). MMPI-2-RF scale scores converged with the personality/psychopathology models in a theoretically expected manner. Limitations and directions for future research are discussed. © 2020 John Wiley &amp; Sons, Ltd.Two experiments tested the hypothesis that a plausible contributory factor of structural language impairment in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is impaired declarative memory. We hypothesized that familiarity and recollection (subserving semantic and episodic memory, respectively) are both impaired in autistic individuals with clinically significant language impairment and learning disability (ASDLI/LD ); whereas recollection is selectively impaired in autistic individuals with typical language (ASDTL ). Teenagers with ASDLI/LD (n = 19) and primary school age children with ASDTL (n = 26) were compared with teenagers with learning disability (LD) (n = 26) without autism, and primary school aged typically developing (TD) children (n = 32). Both experiments provided strong support for the hypothesized links between declarative memory processes and lexical-semantic facets of language in the two autistic groups, but not in the TD group. Additional findings of interest were that declarative memory processes and lexive memory may also be compensated for using visual-perceptual abilities by autistic and learning-disabled adolescents, which has positive implications for educationalists. © 2020 International Society for Autism Research, Wiley Periodicals, Inc.BACKGROUND Regorafenib is a small molecule multikinase inhibitor that inhibits multiple kinases including BRAF, KIT, PDGFRB, RAF, RET, and VEGFR1-3. PROCEDURES The in vivo anticancer effects of regorafenib were assessed in a panel of six osteosarcoma models, three rhabdomyosarcoma models, and one Ewing sarcoma model. RESULTS Regorafenib induced modest inhibition of tumor growth in the models evaluated. CONCLUSION The overall pattern of response to regorafenib appears similar to that of the kinase inhibitor sorafenib, with pronounced slowing of tumor growth in some models, limited to the period of agent administration, being the primary treatment effect. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.The microbiota plays an important role in the growth of mosquitoes and the transmission of mosquito-borne pathogens. The effects of changes in aquatic habitats in which mosquitoes live, as one of the major factors closely associated with the microbial communities of mosquitoes, on the microbiota of different developmental stages remain to be elucidated. Here, we compared the microbiota of larvae and pupae of Aedes albopictus exposed to different ampicillin concentrations and investigated the bacterial composition of adult females. The results demonstrate that the microbial community differed substantially between developmental stages and that samples of the same stages shared similarities, whereas differences were observed between adult females. Based on all observations, we hypothesize that the use of ampicillin caused dysbiosis rather than excluding bacteria from mosquitoes and that the disturbing effect of ampicillin was obvious in adults. Herein, we report the synthesis, characterization, and photophysical properties of rhenium(I) polypyridine complexes containing a sydnone moiety as bioorthogonal phosphorogenic probes. Their reactions with strained alkyne derivatives and the associated photophysical changes were examined. Upon SPSAC with bicyclo[6.1.0]non-4-yn-9-ylmethanol (BCN-OH), the complexes exhibited emission enhancement in the range of 8.8 to 17.3. Importantly, conjugation of the complexes with BCN-modified bovine serum albumin (BCN-BSA) led to the increase in emission enhancement to as high as 38.9 and extended lifetimes in the range of 1.80 to 4.71?μs. Additionally, the bioorthogonal ligation of one of the complexes with a morpholine derivative was shown to induce specific lysosomal labeling in live cells; colocalization studies with LysoTracker Deep Red indicated a Pearson's coefficient of 0.
